The network battle

The ending of 2016 was marked by Reliance JIO launching 4G into the market that too for free of cost for the first few months. Huge mobile bills to unlimited talks, 1GB data for a month to 1.5GB data per day the transformation was sustainable. Till date the  other network companies grapple to come in line with JIO but eaching the level where JIO stands sounds far-fetched.
Like a bolt from the blue came a news that the unlimited calls days are coming to an end. Customers have to pay for extra talktime at a price of 6p/min for every call they make to other network.
The only contender of JIO to an extent was Airtel. At the point when the prices were hiked and extra talktime packs were added by JIO, Airtel just hiked up its price by Rs. 50 but continued to provide truly unlimited calls to all networks.
If we compare the cheapest plan of both JIO and airtel: Airtel's Rs. 298 pack comes with 28 days validity provides 1.5gb/pd and offers free 4-week course on Shaw Academy along with subscription to Wynk Music and Airtel Xstream App Premium. JIO's Rs. 249 pack comes with 28 days validity provides 1000 minutes FUP calling for JIO to non JIO.
While JIO charges a bit less than Airtel and provides only data and few minutes FUP calling on the other hand Airtel charges a little more and provides its customer with data, truly unlimited calls to all the networks many other benefits too.
So is it the time when Airtel can win the battle against JIO.

  21. True to a far extent coz it's quite difficult for middle class people to spend Rs. 500 and more just as data and internet charges.. Also they are atleast more than 2 smartphones now in every other house.. And if people are getting the same at cheaper price then definitely they would switch to that. So the analysis is realistic and logical. Very appreciable work as people would get an exact idea of the entire scenario. Great job. Will be looking ahead for more blogs...
